A&D Superday - Need some help
I was invited to an A&D superday and really have no idea what to expect in terms of O&G technicals I should be aware of. Besides recent O&G deals, overall macro stuff, and basic fin/acc technicals what should I focus on? Any sort of advice/tips would be great. Thanks.
Know the major companies in each vertical (Upstream, Midtstream, Downstream, OFS). Also, the multiples used (EV/EBITDAX, EV/Proved Reserves etc.) and why NAV is used.
You think a high level NAV walkthrough would be suffice -- or would they expect me to bust through a model? (Analyst position btw)

Proving your interest in the industry is gonna be huge too especially if you're not from Texas

Basic IB, Oil and Gas market info/deals, and know some multiples specific to oil and gas. Also depends on the firm. My EB interviews in Houston were a lot more technical than the BBs

I interviewed with basically all of them and received an offer from 1 (tho I did not accept it) and got another from a BB. I will say, the people in Houston were way nicer than the people I met in NYC
