Advice for Rising Sophomore Transfer Student to IB

I am a Asian male, rising sophomore who just transferred from a LAC to a Top 10 non-ivy target school to major in stats. This summer I returned to my home city to work in a large tech company as operations intern. Because I was preparing for my transfer and maintaining my GPA, I missed the opportunity to apply to an IB related intern this summer. Now I study the BIWS courses on financial modeling to prepare myself for some interviews when I get back to campus September. Is my current plan on track to break into IB? I'm a little late on schedule hence a little anxious as well. Do I have enough time to get a intern at a local firm next summer?
