Advice from full-timers please
Need solid career advice. Am currently in DCM at a BB and feel limited in terms of exit opps. Based on experience, how often do product 1st year analysts manage to switch to coverage at the end of the year? Is it possible to do so without burning bridges & at what point in the year would this be good to start working on?
Almost definitely not going to happen. Do a good job for your 2 years, switch to banking your 3rd year, and proceed from there.
Wow. thanks. What about to LevFin? Do you know of anyone in product groups like DCM/ECM who has managed to go to PE? Or is that almost definitely not going to happen again
The people I know who did the 2 years in lev fin before banking. I haven't seen movement from ECM/DCM to lev fin at the analyst level, but maybe it happens. I don't think so, though.
