I have recently completed an IBD analyst internship in M&A at a Middle Market bank. Though I performed well, the firm could not extend me a full-time offer (sponsorship issues). I am in the process with multiple banks; however, I have just received an offer at a T2 consulting firm in the Strategic M&A department (not corporate finance). Can this be used to leverage my applications in IBD (if so, what is the best way to approach it) or will it hurt my application as it is a separate field?
