After the Analyst Role

one year in, at a bit of a cross-roads. I work at an EB and I really like my group mostly because of the industry (and partially because of the seniors), but I also really like the ideas of either working in PE to invest in my industry or working in strategy to help a budding company.

I think the main thing is down the road I want more work autonomy and control over my life. I have considered the associate position, but my sentiment tends to change daily. Anyone have some thoughts they can share for a confused analyst?
