Am I Screwed?

I’m currently a sophomore interviewing for 2025 positions. I’m from a non target, and managed to get an interview invite (not HireVue) for an EB. I was so excited for the opportunity that I immediately booked the furthest time so I would have plenty of time to prepare. I spent 4 days straight preparing day & night. Finally, the work is done and it’s 1 hour out from the interview. I am about to leave to go find a quiet place to do the interview, when I receive an email from the recruitment team asking where I am. I check the time zone of the email and in all bold it read “EST.” I am in CST, so I was not an hour out from the interview, I was actively missing it. I immediately email them back stating what happened and the recruitment team said they can reschedule the interview, but is this even worth doing? I feel like I completely ruined my first impression and they are simply offering as a formality. Am I overreacting here?

Reschedule the interview and take a shot at it. You've already done the work so just think of it as practice at this point.

Not great, but possible to recover from. I've been late to an interview, rescheduled and made an amazing impression, and eventually gotten an offer before. And as mentioned above, still put effort in, at worst it's practice

Same exact thing happened to me a couple years ago when I was applying for a lateral move. Put the interview in my calendar while I was traveling so the time zone got screwed up.

Obviously I thoroughly apologized but the guy interviewing me was super chill about it and we just rescheduled for the next day. Like other people said, they’re either gonna ding you or they’re not but at this point you might as well go for it.
