Along with Middlebury and Williams, it's probably your best bet if you couldnt get into the Ivy schools. There representation on Wall Street is pretty good and New York in general is littered with Amherst students.

I hear that many of the kids are pretty stuck up though. I knew a couple Amherst alumni and both were trust fund babies, so...

Like any school though I'm sure there are friendly down to earth students as well.

 

people who get econ degrees are just fine. it's not a bad thing that Amherst retains the integrity of a traditional liberal arts education.

amherst in general? great school. good placement into wall street firms, i've heard.
