BB's stopped recruiting 4 months ago.

thats not true, some bb's were still recruiting into March

Because when you're in a room full of smart people, smart suddenly doesn't matter—interesting is what matters.

My question is how did you know this? I would be interested in such opportunities but don't know how to approach this appropriately.

C and DB were recruiting in very limited fashion as a number of summers with return offers found better opportunities in the fall. UBS, obviously was hiring after they fired such a large portion of their first-year class the day before bonuses hit. Also heard Barclays was hiring in February, but they ended up filling the three slots they had with lateral hires (knew one of the kids who made his way in).
I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

most BBs usually bring on at least a few more people in the spring as a few people decide to renege. the problem is a firm is more likely to hire a lateral rather than a new campus hire. regardless of lateral vs campus, it's not really a 'process' per se and likely will not be openly publicized - firms will look at employee referrals and previous priority candidates.
