Any current bankers interested in doing this?(ibankingoasis resume book)

Since most Investment Banks don't even look at people who submit applications online, would the people who are already in the industry be willing to help those of us who don't go to target schools by passing along our resumes to their HR department?

Yes I know; network, network, network...but it

It is a good idea, but I doubt that it would have much following. Few bankers would stick their neck out for something they have never seen and have no connection to what-so-ever. One day, if I am in a position to help, I would be gladly helping people from school, or country, but other than that it is really hard to help someone on an online message board. Good idea, though. I hope it works out

yeah i know, but even 1 person is better than none, since at least that way your resume is actually read.

  • its not like they need to really push for people to get interviews, I'm expecting something like this

"Hi (HR PERSON), I have a few resumes that I was wondering if you could take a look at for the analyst position, see if maybe some of them fit our criteria?"

every little bit helps, and I already exhausted my schools networking options

did you know the frat thing had a VP alumn somewhere before hand? or was it a "oh thats nice"

You don't have to join a frat to find an alumn, aspiringmonkey when you say you've exhausted your schools network, I have to say I doubt it. If there is even one alumn who is working in IB chase him down and POLITELY harass the shit out of him until he does whatever you want so that you leave him alone. NOTE: POLITELY, because if s/he hates you then you really are fucked.

big there are a total of 2 alumns on the school networking site that are listed as being in IB. So its not like my sister at cornell, where I looked on their alumni network and there are 5 pages of people in IB

It's better than none, work it and do it as smart as you can. I have a friend who is a MD at a BB and he said, "I get contacted through the alumni network alot and I always make every effort to give them in". So don't underestimate the value of 2 guys you can contact. He also said he prefers brief and to the point emails.
