Any tips for phone interview with BAML TMT?

Hey guys, so I have a phone interview tomorrow with a VP at BAML's TMT group. Any tips?

Also, this is for a summer analyst position (2018). Thanks!

I got it through a friend's dad. After a lot of networking and talking to people in multiple offices I ended up with this call to a staffer. One of the other guys in this office reviewed my resume a shitload of times and helped me edit it. Another staffer in a separate office has been a sort of point person for me; we talk over the phone once a week about any questions I may have about this process.

So yeah I'd say this is a first round interview. The previous guy I talked to who edited my resume suggested I get dinner with some of the other analysts in the coming weeks. This is supposed to be the first step in that process.

Thanks for the help everyone. It went well. He said I was pretty early and recruiting doesn't pick up till August, but highly suggested I sign up for a Training the Street course over the summer. I asked him a handful of questions, how the tech M&A group and tech coverage group interact with each other on a daily basis, what's been the biggest thing keeping him at BAML over the years, etc. All in all he was really cordial and said I should feel free to reach out to him with any questions I may have regarding modeling or tech M&A in general. He said as the summer goes on I should schedule a time to come by their office and grab lunch with some of the other analysts.

Also made me know that because I don't attend one of the two target schools that this office historically recruits from, I'm gonna be grilled harder on technicals come superday time. That being said, he basically laid out a path for me to land this position--make sure I have my technicals down cold, keep networking and have an open line of communication with his office, and advocate for myself at my current IB internship so I have more opportunities to get transaction experience.

Also recommended I start reaching out to other banks BB and MM banks as well so I don't put all my eggs in one basket. Made a point to say he's helping me because he wishes someone was there to help him in college--spoke to the fact that he wants to pay it forward.

Guess my next step is to finish this M&A course I'm taking online through the NY institute of finance and move on to TTS.

If anyone has any questions about the call/my experience networking thus far feel free to hmu
