Anyone notice how a shit ton of people try to up their prestige??

Anyone notice how most people try to make themselves more prestigious. Not really a serious post but just a funny thing I noticed on these forums and some irl nerds.

I work in Finance = Either Chad Financebro whos transcended prestige or some F500 FPA nerd

I work at BuLgE bRaCkEt = Prob Back Office

I work under the [S&T Division] or [IBD] = prob some BO/MO role housed in the two divisions

I work in the (c)IB of bank= Def Corporate Banker

Etcetc. Same thing as “Goldman Sachs Analyst but works in “Human Capital

Example being that Barclays S&T dude in that Wannabe Patrick Bateman Ticktock but work in BO support for S&T.

It's human nature - don't let it bother you especially when we are all in essence milking this particular strand of vanity working in finance. Have seen many vanilla bake-offs won by GS/MS despite no real advantage given fairly simple transactions and them being 3x more expensive. In the end of day human vanity makes elite advisory finance as profitable for incumbents as it is.
