APAC IBD - General Questions (Currently at BB)

Currently at a BB doing IBD (associate). Enjoying my time, team and bank, but for personal reasons, could be interested in moving to APAC.

My understanding of APAC is that banking is limited to Hong Kong and Singapore. Since I don’t read or write Chinese, I’m likely at a disadvantage in Hong Kong.

Questions that I have, for people in APAC: 1. Any good IBD / forums for APAC IBD? 2. What’s the easiest way to get back to APAC IBD? Lateral hire? My understanding of IBD activity in APAC is that it is a must-have platform, but very little business is actually conducted there – i.e. deals are far and few between 3. Related to the above, deals look like they are dominated by GS and MS – the 4 Chinese banks are also starting to make some noise 4. How does APAC versus USA banking differ? I’m less curious about the cultural differences, as I’m aware of those. But I’m more interested in process and learning – given how difficult banking is in America, with strong frameworks, financial reporting, etc, I can only imagine the difficulty is compounded by companies with less than solid reporting

I guess I’m trying to figure out how realistic is it for me to do IBD in APAC, as an experienced hire, and trying to learn more about the situation.
