Apollo Discusses Raising Fund Limit to $20bn

Thought that was pretty cool, especially given the difficult fundraising environment with KKR only raising $6.2bn out of their $8bn target, LPs demanding that TPG return more capital before they start fundraising again, Bain Cap raising $3bn out of $6bn, etc.
Thanks for sharing man!
god damn lyondell...I'll bet even their most optimistic upside case didn't forecast those kinds of returns.
yup...think Carlyle was trying to do the same
impressive
Just out of curiosity, how much time do funds typically have to raise capital? I'm assuming it's something agreed upon beforehand because if given enough time any fund should be able to reach their fundraising target right?
Also, why would LPs agree to raise the limit? Doesn't that just dilute their own returns?
