Application Under Review Meaning
Hi, I recently applied for a program at a BB, and my status online changed from "Application Received" to "Application Under Review." Does this mean anything? Good news?

What Does Job Application Status Under Review?
Applying for any position and seeing your application under review may seem like good news as your potential employer is reading your application, but is that always the case?
Due to the sheer number of applications, more often than not firms have automated applications filters to sort out those that recruiters will actually read and decide who to offer an interview to. If your application makes it this far than it would most likely be labeled "under review" and the next step from here is either to receive an email regarding the interview, or a rejection email.
Overall - being under review does not mean something positive or negative. It is a neutral sign.

Hm... I thought that meant you passed the tests...
it means youve passed the first screen thats most likely been done by the resume auditing software and youre in the short-list pile of potential interview candidates -- its not an automatic change
ive even gotten 'hey bro youuuuuure under reviiiiiiiiiew' emails from big IM shops and ive been like hey just tell me when i have an actual interview lol
I think you are right, because I submitted my application to NYC, Chicago, and London. The 'review' thing changed only for NYC and Chicago. For London it says that my application has been received.
I submitted my app a month ago.
Did it change today only? Was it "received" yesterday?

In all seriousness, I wonder if it is still like this now or companies just forget to update the application.

I applied for summer analyst position for nyc office. They emailed me last week that they had already updated the status for many applicants and I will be notified by first quarter 2015. I am at a non-core school. Since some people were invited to the superday already and they started to reject many applicants, am I in their waiting list? Do I still have hope?
nope you arent in a waiting list. you got your chance tho, they are reviewing applications.
those status updates dont mean anything, trust me. just be patient, nothing you can do now.
