Associate Pay at MMs in NYC??
Hey all,
Heading to a top MM in NYC in their M&A group (ie. HL, Baird, PJS, etc.) and wondering how total compensation for an Associate 1 shakes out in terms of base + bonus? Have heard conflicting info so thought we'd get some responses flowing.
Note - this is for a full year Associate 1, not stub.

So its a friend that went form no name to MM. Firm is on fence between LMM/MM, so there are probably some haircuts baked in.

From what I've seen, id expect $250-325 depending on bucket.
Depends on the bank. If you’re in the WB/HW/HL/Baird/PJS grouping then I’d expect a floor of $270k and a ceiling of $325k. One of my buddies from MBA works at a MM in Chicago and made out like a bandit with their bonus last week.
edit. To clarify, this is for Associate 1.
Is the floor also present for Jefferies?
Do BBs have a floor of $250k too?
No. On the comp thread 80-90k at some BBs does not seem uncommon.
Bumping in case anyone has additional data points
From the comp thread... page 3 has an As2 340k all in and an As3 at 500k all in. Both MMs.
As a third year assoc at a MM and prior BB analyst, I can confirm both of those are atypical.
340k as an analyst is higher than most associates in MM.
500k all in as an associate even at a EB is on very high end
340k is for an Associate 2, sorry I put As2 I think that means Associate 2 but still need to learn my lingo
I've seen 500k all in for an Associate 3 a couple times. Usually it is top bucket EBs As3's and usually the top end I've seen is around 475k.
