Associate / Sr Associate – Principle Investments and Leveraged Finance Structuring and Underwriting – NYC

Top boutique international financial services platform seeks an Associate for a transactional structuring and underwriting role, supporting multiple business units across the organization, including underwriting mezzanine, equity, and debt investments, as required. Initially, the focus will be on real estate (generally non-senior) investments, but role will expand to include technology, healthcare, and industrials investments, and may also include Latin transactions. Individual will be an integral member of this small team, collectively responsible for supporting senior team members in structuring transactions for the bank's Americas lending and investments businesses, but also taking the initiative to manage that process on their own, commensurate with their capabilities and drive. This is a terrific opportunity to execute as a generalist, across the capital stack, while you discover what sectors and products are most interesting as you develop professionally.  The institution is relatively tolerant of risk, working on highly-leveraged, smaller transactions, as well as larger syndicated ones. The best candidates will have strong educational and experiential credentials, including familiarity with structures across the capital stack, and should have 4-6 years of overall experience with credit. Top written and oral communications skills are essential, as is a team-oriented demeanor, the ability to work independently, and a positive, can-do attitude. This group is focused on structuring and then putting together credit applications for new loans and investments, and is not responsible for managing the credits on an on-going basis (such as quarterly or annual reviews); the position is transactional in nature.
