At BB got an offer for top group at EB

1.5 years into my BB and got an offer to join a top EB. Was going to do PE recruiting this year but it got pushed back. Group doesn’t do 2 year promote for whatever reason but I just got my bonus and I don’t really enjoy my coverage (not niche just don’t like it and it’s not fig or re). My MDs are good in that they care and call to check on me, make sure I’m well ranked, etc but I don’t think I had a technical experience (ton of join book, m&a deals are usually buyside, etc). Should I still lateral?

Well, how do historical exits look for your group? And do they match up to your expectations?

If historical exits from your current BB are good enough then  I’d stay. Ultimately you’ll be done with banking in next 1.5 years. Seems like you’ve built good rapport and as long as you don’t get pigeonholed even if niche coverage for PE exits then don’t see much EB upside (aside from pay of course)
