Background Check and the Waiting Game

Hello,

I was recently given an offer from an IB in my city. Once I received the offer I contacted HR and told them that a little over a year ago I was arrested for a DUI. I told them I was, and still am, on court supervision and that I was never convicted and have no criminal convictions on my record. HR thanked me and said that being forthcoming shows integrity. The background check is still pending since Monday. How long do they normally take? Could my court supervision be delaying it and could it possibly lead to having my offer rescinded? I have never had a background check take this long. Are they more stringent for IB's? Thanks in advance.
