Background check question
Did an internship for a startup two years ago. It was disorganized and kind of a mess, so I kinda dropped off the face of the earth at the end. However, it was listed on my resume. Anyway, I’m pretty sure the “company” doesn’t exist anymore.
When they go to do my background check for my SA, will this be an issue?
They don’t have a website or anything, and I’d have to look back in my email to even figure out what my boss’ name was.
You gotta move to a different country before they initiate the background check - RUN!!!
Not sure. But my $0.02 is that when I interned this summer, they asked for references from my previous internships and did verify employment history with the firms
Did they ask you to collect references, or did they reach out to others directly?
They asked me
I did a start up internship my sophomore summer. My main project, I shit you not, was to grow them weed so they could fund operations.
I think I listed it as like data analyst.
Never got questioned on it in any backgrounds although I did list my “boss” there as a reference.
That makes me feel a lot better… +SB for the crazy experience
Little more relevancy to your situation, they went out of business (weed plants died after I left and they ran out of money).
There was little to no trace of their existence 1 year later. No website, and if you google maps the location I listed, it’s just a house we worked at.
Don’t sweat it.
