I have few years of experience in IB. I'm looking to lateral to a new firm. Is now a bad time to send networking emails? I applied to a few jobs online but I really wanted to increase my chances of getting an interview since "I'm in the zone" and I also have the time. Previously I was just applying online or talking to recruiters.
But I realize that a lot of people will be in holiday mode so I could just wait till January.

Agreed—networking still works, but only if the outreach is genuine and well-timed. Spray-and-pray emails definitely get ignored right now.
I went through banking now in PE, schedule all your emails for Jan 6, 10am. No one is responding to networking emails now
