Dude, no bank is going to wait a week or even a few days to extend offers. They call people that night or the next morning--that's just the way it works. Sure there is a snowball's chance in hell that, even in this worthless market, the people they extended the offers to first will decline and then they'll go down the list and come to you. But don't hold your breath. It sucks, man, but it's reality.

HR tells everyone they'll get back to you later than they really will if you're a first-choice candidate. This isn't just in banking that they do this. A friend interviewed at KPMG and they said they'd get back to candidates next week, but he got a call the next day. They're trying to keep you warm and allowing first-choice candidates some time to respond. If an interview is Friday and you don't hear from them by Saturday, it usually isn't gonna happen for you.

I appreciate all the positive insights. Would love to hear from anyone who actually interviewed, but all ^ was very helpful nonetheless. Thank you guys
