Bank denies having received my background check

Have done an background check with Hireright for an incoming role at a bank in London. Provided all information as needed, and have no convictions, debts or lies in my resume (e.g. nothing to worry about).

On the Hireright portal, it says that the report has been finalized and shared with the bank (and said so for >5 days), but the bank claims that they haven't received it.

Should I be worried here?

I mean talk to HireRight but I'm not really sure why you're involved in this process at all. Your job is to give HireRight info. The bank is HireRight's client and you shouldn't be the one managing their relationship lol.

HireRight can be retarded though so yes, stuff often goes "wrong" and eventually sorts itself out.

I am not "Involved". It just says on Hirerights portal that they have shared the report with the bank, but when I ask about it the bank says they haven't received it.

Well that's what I mean, why are you asking the bank whether they've received it? That's being involved - or were you expecting something to happen which didn't yet?

I would just let them sort themselves out. In big banks there's like a million layers of bureaucracy here.

Because I dont want to hand in my notice of resignation to my current place before everything is officially confirmed, and my agreed start-date is very soon (meaning I would eventually have to hope my old firm lets me leave "earlier" than what the contract requires).

Fair enough. In that case I'd be on HireRights case. Make sure they've sent to the right people. Make the bank aware of your time constraints and express urgency. Find out who is meant to receive the HireRight approval and how you can escalate this.

The fact is sometimes these approvals don't go directly to the HR team managing your process. Sometimes there's a team separately in charge of this stuff. At my bank I'm pretty sure part of this process is centralised.
