Banking Hours 2023

Want to compare average hours based on a few factors:

(1) Type of bank (BB/EB/MM/RB)

(2) Location

(3) Position

(4) Average # hours worked during the week

(5) Average # days worked during the week (ex. Mon-Fri, Mon-Sat, etc.)

(6) Any other relevant details (ex. in-office/hybrid/remote, lean deal team, slow activity in vertical, etc.)

Why the hell would you endure such hours? Lmao. How much of them are actual deal work? Here are mine.

EB

West Coast (Palo Alto / Menlo Park)

Analyst 2

70-75 hours a week

6 days a week / 3 to 4 days are WFH

(5) Everyday, except typically get around 4 Saturdays in a row off in between quarters

(6) Hybrid, could go weeks without showing up in insanely if insanely busy. Comp way below street

5) 7 days

6) Soul: gone, hair: leaving, sleep: when, sunlight: what

  1. BB
  1. NYC
  1. A2
  1. Hours: realistically like 30-60 hours a week in 2023 (declining since the start of the year). Definitely because I’m an A2 and idgaf anymore cause I’m about to leave, also just got extremely lucky that I wasn’t on any crazy live deals.
  1. Only worked a handful of weekends and had a good amount of Fridays with almost no work.
