IMO it's usually those who work for LMM banks or small boutiques somewhere in an alternative city. Big fish in a small pond mentality with those people.
Working banking hours and doing tons of menial grunt work but when you send your resume out and nobody (even in finance) has even heard of your bank must be so demoralizing
