Barclays Layoffs Next Week…
First GS, now Barclays. These headlines suck but I wouldn’t be surprised if rest of the street follows suit.

Time for ubs layoffs
this week
Bumping for the Barclays folks
Did anyone hear anything at IB NYC?
It's a bit late for layoffs.
Market is picking up now and will get better over the next 6 months. Banks cutting juniors this late will see a staffing crunch in Q1/Q2 next year.
Well a lot of people think the recession is set to begin over the next 6 months lol
IB has been hit so hard the past few quarters that we may see an uptick regardless of a Recession.
This is somewhat Naive.
In the hope that your post is you not being a childish troll - the market doesn't stop for too long.
Funds still need to deploy dry powder and exit portcos and the PE market is picking up. Equally on the corporate side we are seeing more opportunistic transactions And divestment of non core assets into PE.
There are a large number of funds that raised post covid and due to 2022 haven't deployed anywhere near the rate or quantum they need to.
Sure it's not 2021 but it's recovering.
I think it’s an excuse to get rid of low and middle performers.
My group has been hiring rapidly at senior levels. Even brought a new AS/VP on just today. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them cut a few in the coming weeks as well.
