Barclays M&A (Exclusive Sales) Group
Any insight on them? I know all the coverage groups run their own M&A in-house, so wondering what the actual M&A group aka "Exclusive Sales" does?

Career Resources
At my firm exclusive sales means sell side only. More of a senior thing, don’t think any analysts work in that group
It's a sell-side M&A group. The junior team helps with sell-side M&A pitches and deals. Work is centered around putting together everything that comes along with a sell-side M&A process: marketing docs, models/valuation and M&A admin/process work (buyer logs, datarooms, diligence, etc.).
Can you share how this group works with the coverage team? Who does what usually?
It depends on the deal, but generally the exclusive sales team usually handles more of process and buyer outreach side while coverage does more of the modeling and positioning
It sells exclusive things
Does anyone know if this is a good group for PE exits?
Not sure, seen one instance of decent MM
Just talking about London office, the group is better known as “Sellside M&A”. They also cover activism.
Would not recommend from an Analyst perspective as essentially most of your work will be process / admin related, so limited learning, especially if you want to go for a PE exit.
Hot take would be Coverage teams will basically use you as their admin b*ch while they do marketing materials and models (not always of course but there is limited incentive for a coverage VP or Assoc to teach you when they could teach one of their own juniors instead).
No idea how it is in the US.
How would this differ from MM advisory?
they do bitch work for the coverage teams
