Barclays Tech vs Industrials
Was wondering if anyone has thoughts on which group at Barclays would provide better exits.

Which one u picking
No idea lol
I like industrials because the business models are simple. I also like tech because there is always something new.
I have a friend in tech he said they get a lot of great opportunities from headhunters. But both groups work very hard
Thanks, super helpful. Curious if you know..... do they have MF opportunities?
two analysts in barclays tech class placed at MFs during on-cycle. All had MF interview opportunities but I'm sure Barclays got a lower % of looks than GS/MS/JPM etc. Also had fantastic placement for MM/UMM funds.
Feel like tech in general is more attractive… plus you can join startups / strat finance roles if you burn out of banking, don’t think that’s an option from industrials.
Is this for summer placement in a couple weeks?
It is happening right now
I meant the preferences submission deadline, aren’t most groups done choosing analysts? Placement has been going on for like 2-3 months now
Tech is definitely more interesting. Will learn a ton, gain exposure to a bunch of companies. They have some pretty solid seniors there, also some “hardos” (not bad by any means in comparison to other BBs on street), but they definitely acknowledge hard workers. Would say tech for an initial intro to IB is a great area
At Barclays Tech.
I'm biased, but if you want to lateral at some point, barclays tech is the way to go.
Our analysts got pretty much any interview into PE/VC that they wanted. My friend in industrials work hard, but I can't speak for the group. Just super boring lol, who wants to work in industrials. Our culture is great too, just sweaty. Everyone is friends and we go out whenever we can
Yeah cuz working with the 100th iteration of (insert business function) automation software company or (insert random acronym) cloud-based payments/IT services company is sooo fascinating
I mean at that point the 100th iteration of any company in any industry is boring
Thanks for this. Super helpful!
Anyone hear back from NYC
