BB S&T SA to IBD FT -> Specific Placement Question

I will be interning at a top BB in S&T this summer and am considering the possibility of moving over to IBD for full time. As I'm currently going through the placement process, I am interested in what desk(s) in S&T would be conducive to making this move. My firm does not do a rotational program.

If there is any other advice for specific strategies to take during my summer should I choose to go this route, I would greatly appreciate hearing those as well.

A couple things to preface-

1.) I realize the optimal route is to summer in IB if I want to do IB. Frankly, this isn't in the cards at this point, and I am excited for the trading opportunity. I may very well decide I like it and want to continue in it. I would rather frame this discussion as the possible exits from my summer analyst role. The bank has a good mobility program, which I've already utilized (did a BO internship last summer).

2.) I would like to hear what perceptions people in IBD have of different trading desks. My interests encompass a pretty wide scope (I think I'd be happy on most desks), so I want to hear what people on the other side of the wall think.

3.) I have researched on this site and know the topic of S&T SA to IBD FT has been covered from a more macro perspective. I have not, however, seen the topic considered on the micro of actionable strategies such as desk placement that would be ideal to make such a move.

Thanks for any thoughts!
