I'm watching TNT's coverage of All-Star Weekend and BBVA is sponsoring everything, it seems. I know they're making a move into the American market, but is it just retail banking? Do they plan on expanding their IB practice into the US? How is their IB practice in Asia and LatAm?

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone ever worked at BBVA and could give me some insight into the company. It's a huge European bank, but I'm not too familiar with the operations here in the US, especially in NYC.
I'm interested in knowing more about their IB, Capital Market, AM, side of business. Their culture, pay scale, employee growth potential would also be something of interest. Would anyone consider working there in any of their corporate division?
They are moving their offices and jobs to Houston and leaving minimal staff in NYC. Feel free to PM with specific questions.
Solid Private Banking in the US... Unlike the majority of banks in Spain, BBVA next to Santander have been performing much better than expected - despite the recent sell-offs. Pay is not as high as the standard bulge brackets but can make good $ if you establish a large enough client list.
