Being marginalized at my firm, Need career advice

Hi Monkeys,

Want to share some thoughts….

BG: top 15 university, BB banking good group, Situation: Not feeling motivated to work everyday given it’s all bullshit work…and it’s a vicious cycle that my staffer is not giving me good deals as well…

On the hind side, I’m just not interested in grabbing numbers from fillings to excel, formatting a “nicely looking” worksheet, meeting notes jotting… think they’ll be replaced by tech one day, not even AI. does it mean I’m just an irresponsible person after all? And it really makes me doubt what’s investment..if that’s most things done at PE/Growth, is there anything that’s meaningful?

Next steps: Thinking about Growth equity or startup for next job

Pleaseeee in need of any suggestions

Hey there,

I totally get where you're coming from. It can be tough when you feel like you're stuck in a cycle of unfulfilling work. But remember, every job has its ups and downs, and sometimes the grunt work is just part of the journey.

If you're feeling unfulfilled, it might be a good idea to take a step back and reassess your career goals. What is it that you're truly passionate about? What kind of work would make you excited to get up in the morning? Once you have a clearer idea of what you want, you can start to make a plan to get there.

As for your next steps, moving into growth equity or a startup could be a great move if that's where your interests lie. Both fields offer plenty of opportunities for hands-on work and the chance to make a real impact.

Remember, it's your career and you're in the driver's seat. Don't be afraid to take risks and pursue what truly makes you happy. After all, life's too short to be stuck in a job you hate.

Keep your chin up and remember, even the worst days only have 24 hours. You've got this!
