Easy question to answer: Wall Street for McCombs. Didn't exist when I was in undergrad, but it did exist when I was there for b-school. TBH there's been a pretty dramatic improvement in placing candidates in NYC than in years past (obviously it helps with Houston IB recruiting, too).
I'm going to assume you're an incoming freshman? Just because clubs don't (or at least didn't) recruit at the end of the year usually. As a freshman, you're not able to join WSFM because it only recruits sophomores for the banking recruiting season. However, I would definitely encourage you to apply to the investment clubs/teams, and anything else you're interested in. Also I would say to rush if you can afford dues, Greek life is a good way to meet friends and has a pretty heavy presence of upperclassmen (especially in Finance) who can mentor you and guide you on campus
As soon as you get to campus, a lot of clubs will start posting their info sessions either on their social media pages as well as flyers around campus. There are a decent amount, but these are the ones that are considered the "most competitive".
These are just some of the clubs that you have to interview for on campus and they host coffee chats and info sessions so the older kids can get to know you and see if you're normal and fun to hang out with (litmus test for if they wanna be stuck teaching you and hanging out with you for the next couple years). A lot of other clubs follow this same process. There are other finance organizations on campus, but these are the ones that will provide you with the best chances of getting into WSFM as a sophomore, which will help you out a ton for recruiting. I would also recommend getting involved in different social activities or maybe consider a business fraternity if you didn't rush. Gives you a good mix of social and professional resources.
Obviously, none of this is end all - be all. If you don't end up getting into any of these clubs, you can still recruit for WSFM and IB (though it might be more difficult). My best advice when you get onto campus is to be personable. No one will want to vouch for you if you come off as a complete tryhard.
