Which groups are the best in terms of culture, wlb, etc? Have heard some groups being really sweaty and others being manageable.

ECM / “capital solutions” including SPAC raises and pipes, and Dcm
Private funds (was never drawing from the banking pool though)
Life sciences
Healthcare services

TMT (mostly telecom in NY)
Industrials (I think includes infrastructure)
Metals and mining
Power & utilities
Business services
Real estate, gaming and lodging ( does cannabis deals)
Fintech
Risk advisory (product like restructuring but more sovereign / esoteric and structured product expertise). Includes insurance
Asset management (M&A)
Every group does M&A execution in house though. The M&A group are add on resources when it’s a public deal and they just want an extra experienced set of hands around, but I think half if not more moelis deals don’t involve a public player

What's wrong with TMT?
Don’t know too much about WLB in TMT but anecdotally have heard culture horror stories. Healthcare services get grinded but culture doesn’t seem too bad at the junior level. Industrials is pretty chill across the board. Regal has decent culture and they usually work on cool deals (pretty hit or miss wlb-wise).
Any insight on Moelis Boston office? I know it’s big on tech and home building
What's LA office culture like?
Very fratty, work hard play hard, and wlb actually isn’t as bad as this site makes it out to be – there’s work to be done but have heard anecdotally that everyone is a beast so it’s really not that bad bc of that
How many days in a week do people go into the office at the LA office?
