Honestly it doesn't matter. If you work from home / use a laptop you'll likely be logging into a virtual machine (you'll remote into a desktop that sits in NYC or at a company HQ and see your workspace).
When you log in virtually like this, the performance is a function of the host PC's specs, not your own machine's specs. Get a laptop with good port selections and buy a few monitors to have a dual monitor setup.
In that case, let’s say it was for modelling practice. What would the answer be then?
I would still stick to the above:
Lenovo Thinkpads, Dell XPS line, Microsoft surface laptops (not the best port selection but they sell docks and I personally use one and like it) all come to mind. Honestly just do a youtube search of "best Laptop PC's 2019" and use that to initially narrow down the selection.
