BGL Chicago Thoughs?
Anyone have any insight on the culture and quality of the Chicago office? How do they stack up against the other MM in Chicago? Trying to decide whether to accept a SA offer from them.
an1 base is 100k, they do more volume lower EBITDA deals than your typical Blair, Baird MM shops, great reputation though amongst the MM from what I’ve gathered
They don’t do anywhere near the volume of the other two. They are a fraction of the size.
Do some searching. Decent LMM deal flow, playing a notch or two below the typical MM players (Blair, Baird) in town. Known for tons of turnover and terrible culture (long hours, weak pay relative to peers). We just had a few guys interview with us from there, so I don't think the latter has changed much.
What are your other options? It’s a fine place to get your foot in the door if you are open to lateraling to a better bank down the road. UMM firms seem to like hiring from BGL.
Still in the recruitment process with a couple of other MM's. Thats why I am trying to see whether to go with this or roll the dice elsewhere. I've heard good things about the culture in the Chicago office at BGL tho.
