VPs are paid less than the new street As1 base of $175k, so the comp disparity does not get better with seniority. Good place to start an IB career and gain experience if you have no other options but they definitely pay way below street. Prior to the salary bumps across the street Big4 were essentially bottom of the pay scale but now they aren't even competitive. One benefit of Big4 though is the endless resources, at the end of the day these firms are billion dollar corporations so there are perks worth considering beyond comp.
