Blackstone Life Sciences

Hey all,

Current analyst in a healthcare group at an EB. Super interested in healthcare VC/PE. Can anyone share insight about Blackstone Life Sciences? Does anyone know if they recruit juniors?

Seems like they're mostly ex-Clarus Ventures (acquired by BX), and all doctors or have advanced science degrees.

Thanks in advance!

I'm also interested in groups like this and the fact I need an MD or PhD is the most frustrating shit man... at that point dont know if it's worth trying to beat out the tons of really smart and underpaid guys who have been doing research for 10 years. Also seems almost impossible to get any insight on these firms.

Keep in mind, often these buyside MD/PhDs are cream of the crop in their own profession. Many are highly published in research (most went to top MD/PhD schools too - absurdly hard to get into Top 10-20 med schools btw) and not your everyday primary care doctor/surgeon (just look up OrbiMed - their partners for the most part are superstars in terms of credibility).
