Is this group dependent?
Yeah a little. People great but make no mistake they work them.
The solid MM are largely nice people that get good deal looks. But they get rocked with hours.
Hours aren’t awful for an associate but analysts get worked pretty hard. Great deal exposure though. Source: Friend of mine lateraled over to their Tech group as an associate.
if analysts are working ~90hrs a week per the below, what are associates like? I'm at a competitor bank and our associates work just as long as analysts.
What hours do associates work?
Obviously deal/staffing dependant but on average around 60-70 hours for associates
Former analyst - Like anywhere, very deal dependent. Rarely worked past 2 except for the heat of 2021 craziness, would say deal mode is probably 9-2ish M-Th, Friday usually off by 8pm, and Sunday usually ~noon-10pm. Worked 5 Saturdays my entire time there which is nice. Can be a lot less depending on what you’re working on but deal flow is great across the board so you’re usually in deal mode.
WFH still encouraged late/on weekends, they’re in the office now 3 days a week but almost everyone goes home around 7 and WFH.
What would the similar breakdown be for VPs on your team?
What are the hours like for their HC group?Specifically curious about their Biotech IB team.
Anyone know what their Consumer & Retail hours are like right now for analysts?
