Group dependent.

Metals & Mining - Best mining group in the world so great experience but will come with abuse which is the tradeoff

P&U - Used to be good culture with the old staffer, not sure how it is now

Diversified - Not a good culture

ECM/DCM - Heard positive things, lots of Mining and DIG analysts switch to ECM/DCM for a chiller lifestyle later

FIG - Great culture and great staffer (not sure if shes still around) heard they (or used to) sit across from the mining team and the mining analyst/interns would watch them leave by 8/9PM while they slaved away till past midnight

Thank you for the detailed answer. If you had to choose between FIG and M&M, what would you choose?

Do you know more about ECM hours and WFH policy?

P&U Culture is a lot like it used to be. Team is pretty small but definitely very good culture as the staffer generally looks out for everyone. Seniors are all generally very nice as well.

Interned in ECM a while back - will caveat the junior team has changed but seniors are mostly the same. Culture is decent, BMO is just a hostile, not good culture bank compared to the other Canadians, but ECM one of the better groups compared to the rest. Hours for ECM is chill, Analysts pull 7am - 7pm with it ticking down from there as you get more senior.
