BNP vs Raymond James London SA 2024

Have received offers from BNP Paribas and Raymond James for a summer internship in their London offices, IBD division.

I'm trying to decide which offer to accept, and would appreciate any advice. For context, my main sector of interest is Tech (specifically FinTech / software), and in the longer term I'd like to pursue a role in VC / Growth Equity. Trying to understand which of the options will give me better exit ops in that space (I'm aware that I'll most likely have to lateral to a larger BB / EB first).

From my current perspective, BNP has a bigger brand name and are more likely to work on larger deals, while RJ have a particularly strong FinTech / Tech & Services offering, have been growing a lot in London, and offer really good renumeration (I'm hearing £75k base for AN1). Thanks in advance for any insights.

Haha I just got RJ offer as well and in similar dilemma choosing between them and RBC. What I'm currently thinking is RJ base is significantly higher than RBCs from what I'm hearing (60k vs 75k) so if exits are similar not sure if that warrants taking RBC. Also considering culture, personally liked the people I met at RJ.

Yes that and also intern to FT conversion rates. Not sure what RJs are, read one comment on here that said they were good but if anyone else has any insight that would be great.

I heard BNPs conversions are quite poor also but I don't know for sure.

Also do you know for sure if an1 is 75? I've heard that a few times but the intern comp ain't that lol

May I ask when did you do RBC AC? Was it for IBD?

also congrats on both offers!

I would personally go with RJ - you will get more M&A exposure.
