Based on the most helpful WSO content, BNP Paribas (BNPP) is recognized as a solid institution, particularly among French banks operating in the U.S. Here's what you need to know about BNPP and its related groups:

  1. Reputation: BNPP is the largest bank in France and has a strong presence in the U.S. Its financing groups are well-regarded, especially for their big balance sheets. The Asset Finance and Securitization group likely benefits from this reputation, particularly in areas like project finance (PF) and infrastructure.

  2. Culture: BNPP is noted for having a good culture compared to other French banks. Employees often highlight perks like espresso machines and generous vacation policies, which contribute to a more balanced work environment.

  3. Pay and Hours: While specific details about pay and hours for the Asset Finance and Securitization group aren't explicitly mentioned, BNPP generally offers competitive compensation. The hours may vary depending on the group and deal flow, but the culture suggests a slightly better work-life balance compared to some other banks.

  4. Exits: BNPP has a track record of employees exiting to private equity (PE) and other strong opportunities. While the exact exit opportunities from the Asset Finance and Securitization group aren't detailed, the bank's overall reputation and deal flow in financing should provide solid options, especially in PF/infra-related roles.

  5. Strength in PF/Infra: BNPP is known for its expertise in project finance and infrastructure, making this group a strong choice if you're interested in these areas.

If you're leaning toward PF/infra and value a good culture with solid exit opportunities, this offer seems like a great fit.

I know someone who interned at BNP last summer in AFS. It is a very interesting space. They said that the culture is nice and the hours are chill than traditional IB (M&A or Coverage) experience. Interns worked like 50-60 hours, but full time for AFS can be 70-75 hours. Pay is pro-rated as FT base salary and definitely close to IB. BNP is pretty strong in Structured Finance and especially in Europe.

A lot of people actually end up staying in the field because of relatively better hours due to predictable work-flow and overall the industry is very cool and you can have a good skillset.
