BofA HireVue

Hey guys,

Just received a Bank of America video interview, just wondering if anyone could give me some pointers? just recently did one with JPM and wondering if its a similar format? If anyone has done it would you mind sharing your experience with me too?

Cheers.

Did it last year and made it to superday. Tried for junior summer this year but withdrew because I took an offer elsewhere.

It's 5 questions with 3 mins per response, one try each. BofA HireVue tries to catch you with wacky mixed questions (not as much this year though). The ones I remember from both last year and one are

  • Tell us about yourself and why BofA (got this question both years)
  • Tell us about a deal you're following (only got this question last year)
  • Tell us about a major event and how it affects the markets (only got this question last year)
  • Tell us about a key accomplishment that illustrated your personal initiative and drive to push beyond what is required (both years, worded slightly differently)
  • Tell us about a difficult decision you made. Explain the situation, your options, and your decision (this year)
  • Tell us about a time you were the resident expert on a subject matter. how did you explain it and what was the situation? (this year)
  • Tell us about a time you had to quickly learn a new process and apply it effectively (this year)

Best of luck

Cheers man, I actually did the hirevue before seeing this comment but you were spot on haha. Feeling pretty good about it tbh, how long did they take to get back to you?

the superday at least for core bofa schools were only an hour, two thirty minute rounds, one technical and one behavioral

i would say because of how short it is, the school’s recruitment team filtered students through networking calls, those who make it to sd and receive offers usually can’t miss a single technicals (they’re really not that hard) and genuinely pass the airport test (not a hardo/weirdo/bot)

his stuff was spot on even for now
extra questions include
- tell me about your self ( as far as i can tell this is always there , and the first question )
- people in teams have different views and skills, how did you work with them and achieve success
- in the ever changing market/technology / ( in your field ) how do you keep up ? and tell something new you learnt
