Recently got the email that placement is kicking off soon with coffee chats starting next week. Any idea about the rest of the process in terms of formal networking and group-specific interviews? Also are there groups that handle the process differently than others?

Was told by my interviewer to start reaching out to groups I'm interested several weeks ahead of time. Have spoken to a few so far and looks like groups pick who they want to interview based on the convos you have with them.
So do invites to interview just come through casually after networking?
I tried to reach out to them through LinkedIn, but it seems quite inefficient. Is there a better way of networking?
I've made some decent progress with my top two groups - will hopefully be in a good spot for placement day but also wondering if there are other things goin on aside from those coffee chats
Yes, Tech Palo Alto is done completely separate from the other groups, so if you get a generalist offer, you won’t be placing for them
