Bonus Question
Is your bonus included in your biweekly paycheck for the period its paid out, or is it a separate payment. If included in your regular biweekly pay period, is the x% you contribute to 401k from your paycheck also deducted from your bonus, pretax.
It's in a separate "special" paycheck. 401(k) deferral elections don't apply and (at least in my experience) banks will allow you to make a special election to defer (or not to) any percent of your total comp from the check. So if desired, you could not defer any of your biweekly payments and max out contributions solely from your bonus.
very helpful. Do you mind sharing if you're at a bb,mm, or eb
