2022 Analyst 1 Bonus Thread (Consolidated)
Figured we could make an aggregated list of bonuses across banks because they vary significantly across banks. Please comment your bank below, your base, your bonus, and bucket. I'll update as comments come in. ANALYST 1 ONLY
Bulge Bracket:
(110k base) GS: 50k-60k Mid bucket (110k) MS: 30-35k Bottom bucket / 40-45k Mid bucket (110k) JPM: 40-45k Mid bucket (110k) BAML: 40k Bottom bucket / 50k Mid bucket / 75k Top bucket (110k) CITI: 40-50k Bottom bucket / 60k Mid bucket / 80-90k Top Bucket (110k) BARC: ~35k Bottom bucket / ~45k Mid bucket / ~55k Top bucket (110k) CS: 50-60k Mid Bucket (100k) DB: (110k) UBS:
Out of the BBs, it seems like Citi/GS paid the most along with CS. MS, JPM, Barclays all paid bad this year.
Elite Boutique:
(130k) CVP: (120k) EVR: (120k) PJT: (120k) LAZ: (Bonus is based on base of 100k because of recent base increase, making mid bucket all in comp ?) (110k) MOE: (110k) PWP:
Other:
(100k) RBC: Bottom bucket ~45k / Mid bucket ~55k / Top bucket ~65k (90k) Oppenheimer: 85k Bonus (unsure bucket)(100k) Truist Coverage: Bottom bucket 70k / Mid bucket 80k / Top bucket 90k (110k) Harris Williams: Mid bucket 105k (100k) Mizuho - $55K all first years
Might be worth specifying AN1 vs. AN2 as otherwise it's difficult to compare

So the takeaway is that Truist is the highest paying bank.
To give some insight into MM M&A activity vs last year. 2021 was a record year by far for our bank. We are forecasting to come in at about the same as last year, with some groups like mine projecting to beat 2021 by ~50% (which helps when our tech group will be down substantially).
You get absolutely worked in the mm though. The lifestyle really doesn't get much better until you're a director (my vp's still work like dogs), which brings about its own challenges of sourcing your own deals. I wouldn't say being a career banker in the MM is "better". You get paid more but you definitely work for it and you're dealing with shittier companies and less sophisticated clients fairly often.
AN1 at Wells here. Can confirm top bucket was $75 for AN1, $110 for AN2.
Edit: most fell in the $65-$70 range for AN1 (haven’t heard if anyone below $60 tbh). Compared to the rest of the street’s comp + considering the great WLB we had this year I think everyone was pretty happy
CS (an1): 50-55-65-75k; majority in 55-65k
BMO AN2 Range 80-100k
can we get Jef on here
There's gonna be a real awkward convo the next day between the analyst that comped at 80k and the analyst that comped 15k lol.
Centerview’s base is not 130k, it’s 110k. Classic example of WSO echo chamber perpetuating bullshit.
Any info on HL RX?
