Boston college thoughts on eveyrhting banking related - Incoming freshman

Whats up. Im commited to BC CSOM next year so just trying to prepare myself for that tough sophomore year of recruiting as best as possible. If you have any experience thoguhts or wtv just drop it please.

  1. I know BC performs particularly well on the sell side. What about the buy side, especially in the case that banking isn’t my thing after freshman year and want to switch over to consulting?
  2. I’ve heard of other schools offering treks to NYC banks to meet with alumni for coffee chats and what not. Does BC have something similar?
  3. Can you list some of the top finance clubs at BC and give some insight into the application process
  4. I know other schools have some structure within the B school that focuses on intensive interview prep, and kind of helping students throughout the recruiting process. Does BC have something similar?
  5. In your experience, have you reached out to BC alumni and has it led to something meaningful.
  6. Is CSOM more of a BB or EB or MM semi-target?
  7. Does the Career Center help, do you know if they have helped others meaningfully in terms of prep for recruiting or anything related to the process?
  8. Is the B school students a close knit community with faculty in terms of professors caring for you and going an extra mile to help you out?
  9. Does CSOM have a structured style and pipeline for recruiting or do you think they could have done a better job
  10. Do you have any idea of estimate of the 600 finance kids yearly, what percent get solid intenrnships in the junior into senior summer at top EB’s, top MM’s or the BB’s
  11. Out of all in business school what percent do finance
  12. Is it relatively easy to stand out from your peers here.
  13. What is the on campus recruiting culture like? What banks come and visit if there are any?
  14. Is the competition more collaborative and let’s all do well or one tries to pull the other down
  15. Any courses you recommend taking freshmana nd sophomore year that might help out with recruiting? I know most of it is self study but still.
  16. What do some of these clubs offer. Internal internships? Ik this might be a stretch but heard from some CS students there. (IBA offers??)
