Boutique to MM/BB/EB

Hey everyone, so I'm interning at a small boutique bank this summer. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited about it, but would also like to have the opportunity to do full-time at a bigger bank next year. From the advice I have seen so far, it appears that I should reach back out to past people I networked with and ask them if there are any openings; however, I barely networked last year which resulted in me not getting interviews at those bigger banks I am interested in. As a result, what would you guys do if you were in my shoes and wanted to get a FT offer at a bigger bank for next year? Thanks.

Definitely reach out to people you’ve spoken to bf at bigger banks. Tap into school alums, friends heading to other firms, HR contacts. FT slots usually come and go fast. Most of the time they don’t get posted. Having someone in the inside definitely helps.

What kind of call should you do if you have an upcoming internship? Should you ask general IB questions or make it known you want to go to their firm?
