Breaking into IBD S&T as a German

Hi there,

I am wondering how likely you think it is for me to break into IBD S&T in London. As I mentioned in the title: I’m from Germany. S&T in Frankfurt is not really the way to go here because most of the Sales and Trading is covered from London.

My current CV looks like this:

  • Bachelors in Finance at no-name University in Germany in the Top 15% of my class
  • semester abroad in Dublin Trinity College
  • Internships: Audit in a Big4, M&A in small Boutique, Financial Market Sales in a Bank

What are the chances to make it? And what are the best next steps to take here?

I’m finishing my Bachelors this summer and could get a masters degree for example…

That’s super easy, nationality is not an issue and Sales is less popular than IB among students so you should get many interviews if you demonstrate interest in finance, sales and went to a good school (maybe do a masters?)

Thanks for your reply.

Gmat is in the making by the way. So provided I get a score over 680, which school is possible for me to get into and would also get me interviews?
