BX REPE vs GS/MS/JPM London

Hi!

Fortunate enough to have received a SA offer for Blackstone Real Estate Private Equity team and another offer at GS/MS/JPM.

I am having trouble choosing between offers. I'm afraid that if I choose BX I might be forced to stay in RE my whole career (not so sure if RE is what i want to do long term) while if I choose IB I will have more options.

I'm sure that I want to do PE long term so I guess that the thing that I am asking is wether BX will limit my opportunities if I want to do Corporate PE down the line. Any insight on previous BX REPE exits into non RE roles would be really helpful also.

All offers are for London, and I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks!!

Many people left BX RE to other large cap PE funds, unless you know you’ll hare REPE in the short term, take their offer. Also know quite a few people that are making good money in REPE, theh thought they’d leave to do Corporate PE/investing but its more or less the same job given that now most large cap funds make you specialize in one industry so they stayed on and benefit from the good reputation they have internally.

Blackstone hasn’t given out 2024 spring conversions yet so I’m guessing this is 2023 - how are you making this decision so late? Haven’t offers been out about 9 months?
