Why does an IB need someone to market their brand at a college? I don't know many students who need M&A advisory services. Or by investment bank do you mean a financial supermarket that has an IB but also has retail checking accounts?

Goldman has a position like that. The GS 'campus ambassador' at my school never did anything. I didn't even know who he was until after recruiting was over.
