Can someone have speciality finance experience please opine here?

My experience is heavily involved in MBS structured finance space, and not familiar with speciality finance (in comparison of MBS structured product of course). But I defin know it’s under broad structured finance umbrella.

I know it’s majorly focus on ABS but I dont know if that somewhere overlaps special situation. To provide a bit background, it’s a private credit firm.

If it's specialty finance at a PC firm you're right that its mostly ABL. pretty fast growing part of the PC market, typical areas include consumer, mm lending against assets, NAV lending for financial assets specifically, asset/equipment leasing, litigation finance, and royalties. Don't think you will do anything distressed special sits but there is definitely alot of creativity in structuring
